New information informs your decisions.
Keck and I are in receiving new information mode, which also means we’re in re-evaluation mode. We’ve found ourselves in this place before. And it’s always an interesting place to be. The list of pros and cons. The constant balancing of important to us ideas and plans. If this happens then we’ll go down this path. If that happens this one. Or maybe we’ll just build one in the backyard.
We can twist scripture and say this one will direct my path. I think of Jeremiah 29:11. Taken out of context and morphed into the universe of I. We never realize that those plans included exile and a 70-year wait. They even include these words:
“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says to all those he sent into exile to Babylon from Jerusalem, ‘Build houses and settle down. Plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters. Find wives for your sons and allow your daughters to get married so that they too can have sons and daughters. Grow in number; do not dwindle away. Work to see that the city where I sent you as exiles enjoys peace and prosperity. Pray to the Lord for it. For as it prospers you will prosper.’
Jeremiah 29:4-7
Hmmm. Perhaps bloom where you are planted is more the deal than anything else. Learn from your current situation and pray for prosperity for a place of exile. That seems more real and more authentic. Wait with patience. Make decisions. LIve your life.
God’s overall plan for us is good. But it often seems more like a sentence of waiting and reevaluating and deciding with little pieces of information to inform you along the way. ❤
