As a transitive verb, remit means to send money, as in payment. As I paid the bill for some work done on my house today, I told the guy that was my trip to Alaska.
But remit also means to release from the guilt or penalty of something.
Technically, I remitted my payment but I didn’t remit the guilt from having them accept it. I find that a little unkind of me. Yet, funny. ❤
