I got a call today from my friend, Tom. The conversation went something like this:
“I went to this restaurant the other night, and since you and Keck are our more adventursome friends, I want to go back.”
“Okay,” I said. “Where and when?”
Turns out it’s an old gas station converted into a gastro-pub — Petra & the Beast. The wait for a Saturday night full-course meal is two months long. But what we experienced tonight was beyond phenomenal because we got there early.
And as Keck says, there’s nothing better than good friends, good food, good wine, and good conversation. You should have heard him extolling the the experience on the way home.
It was delicious-ness that I don’t even know how to describe. Yet, Food and Wine, does a pretty good job. Misti Norris is the chef-owner. Her idea is to use the whole pig, literally. I ate things that I didn’t know what they were and …
It was good, very, very good.
The experience was something I’m eager to re-experience soon. Guess I’ll have to get my reservation in for that Saturday night gig now if I expect to go back for the full-on dinner before 2019 comes to an end. ❤
