On hot August days, there’s nothing more refreshing then looking at beautiful pieces of art. The Kimball Art Museum’s exhibit features works from Claude Monet. These works completed in his 70s showcase a wealth of emotions.

Breathe-taking movement in these later paintings showcased different shadows and light on Monet’s lily pond. Painting and keeping up the grounds was exhausting work. Yet, Monet persisted.

What a way to enjoy a day of rest.

I was especially moved by this quote in the explanatory notes there. “No horizon is given in these paintings which have no beginning and no end other than the limits of the frame, easily extended by the imagination as far as it wishes.” ❤
