Ever heard the saying, “make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear”? According to The Free Dictionary, it’s an impossibility. Making something of high quality out of low quality materials is a human impossibility. It cannot be done.

But, God.

I wonder what Ezekiel, skeleton-congregation-preaching Ezekiel, would say?

Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. Look, they are saying, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope has perished; we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy, and tell them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Look, I am about to open your graves and will raise you from your graves, my people. I will bring you to the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and raise you from your graves, my people. I will place my breath in you and you will live; I will give you rest in your own land. Then you will know that I am the Lord—I have spoken and I will act, declares the Lord.’”

Ezekiel 37:11-14

Talk about sub-par materials, nothing but dry bones, bones that had to be reformed by the power-life-giving breath of Creator God, by the spirit. Whoa! No skin, no flesh, DRY BONES. So dry they rattled like a science room full of teaching skeletons.

But God. Just like God.

Creator God will recreate by placing breath, Holy Spirit power, inside our broken, dried up bones and rattle us to life. Can you imagine it? Even now it’s just like God to recreate in you and in me LIFE! ❤
