The pastor was sending off the young adults on a week of relaxation and recreation. His words gave me my again word for the a Monday.
Merriam-Webster defines the word “recreate” as to give new life or freshness to. Literally it means to create again.
I love this imagery of vacationing. The idea that we are being recreated anew or that we get to truly freshen up, blow out the cobwebs, take account of where we are.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

So often we’re called to lakes and beaches as a way to relax. We find the Spirit of God moving, refreshening our spirits, blessing our recreation. As school is scheduled to start soon, many people are setting out on these dog days of summer to get in a last vacation before summer ends and classes begin.
