Recrudescence is a new word for me. I love it when I find new again words. It means a new outbreak after a period of abatement or inactivity. Interestingly, Merriam-Webster it derives from the Latin, in which it means to become raw again.
It sounds oddly like a bad rash. It’s used most often in the medicine to describe a renewed outbreak of a disease.
Yet today, I’ve been humming Carly Simon’s song, Coming Around Again.
I know nothing stays the same
Carly simon, coming around again
But if you’re willing to play the game
It’s coming around again
So don’t mind if I fall apart
There’s more room in a broken heart
It’s odd that I’ve been humming a song about raw feelings on a day when I’ve been happy and productive. ❤
