We’ve all seen the meme. “God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called.” Or: “God doesn’t call the equipped. He equips the called.”
While I don’t know who first said this, I can recognize truth when I see it. It’s actually a twist on scripture.
The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:24
In my professional life, when I find myself standing there beside myself, I wonder.
The places I’ve found myself have blown me away. If you’d asked me when I was a kid what I’d be when I grew up, I don’t think I could have ever imagined this. Because I didn’t know how I would grow, how a community college and a commuter university and an education would change me and open opportunities.
I never dreamed I really live in a big city. That I would travel as much as I do. I didn’t think I was capable of this.
I didn’t know I’d have to be equipped again and again. The lickety-split changes in technology alone have kept me hopping. Who knew that first computer we bought would someday fit in the palm of my hand?
The one who calls us is faithful. ❤
