Gentle Shepherd come and lead us,
Gaither vocal band
For we need you to help us find our way.
Gentle Shepherd come and feed us,
For we need your strength from day to day.
There’s no other we can turn to,
Who can help us face another day.
Gentle Shepherd come and lead us,
For we need you to help us find our way.
I can’t help it. I’m a child of the eighties. These old songs pop up in my memory almost daily. They get stuck in my head.
Yesterday, as I was mulling over the Lenten season, I thought on this song. “Gentle Shepherd.” And, I kept thinking about how much we need this idea of our Gentle Shepherd who leads with loving goodness and tender care.

the care of the sheep.
Rely on the Lord! Be strong and confident! Rely on the Lord!
Psalm 27:14
The psalmist writes over and over again that we are to rely on the Lord. Rely on the Good Shepherd. The one who gently, kindly, and lovingly leads us to green pastures, annoints us with oil, runs our cup over.
As I learn more about Jesus the Christ, I know he is trustworthy and dependable. He is truly the only reliable source of strength and grace and love.
Gentle Shepherd come and lead me. ❤
I look forward to each day’s blog. Each one is thought provoking and frequently provides a sense of comfort and peace. Thank you for your faithfulness.
